SwissNature.org - Added value

Information is available on the following topics:

Overview

This page provides an overview of the options for exploring animals (fauna) and plants (flora) that are provided by SwissNature.org.

Habitats and their biotic communities

Habitats (biotopes) show which plants (flora, botany) and animals (fauna, biology) thrive and live in a particular environment (biocoenosis).

Animal/plant species and habitats

This page lists all species for which there is at least one record in SwissNature.org (e.g. insect A on flower B) or which we could document in at least one habitat.

Insects on flowering plants and other relationships between animals and plants

This function can be used to determine which animals (e.g. all, bees or emperor cloak) we have been able to document, identify and enter into the database on which plants (e.g. all, labiates or glossy scabious).

Elevation ranges in which animals and plants (species, genera, families, etc.) live

On this page, you can find out at which altitudes we were able to document, identify and enter which animals (e.g. all, bees or emperor moths) and/or plants (e.g. all, labiates or shiny scabious) into the database.

Species by category

The species that we have observed in parts of Switzerland to date, documented photographically, identified and entered into the database can be displayed per category (e.g. ants, bees, wasps, etc.) using this function. One concise photo is displayed per species.

Identification guides for flora and fauna

The flora and fauna identification guides help to identify plants (flora) and animals (fauna).

Distribution of habitats

These statistics show the distribution of habitats by elevation and by region.
